When we first see Lara, she’s on a ship heading towards an island where sadly, they get stranded, full of savage beasts, insane cultists, and the mystery of the Shaman Queen, Himiko. The hard thing for me when it came to this game was figuring out how to get my path to glow so I know that I’m going to right way, the way they had it set was a little confusing to me because I’m used to having it on my right pad where it would be easier to hit down on. The one thing that annoyed me the most about the start of the game was the wolves. I think I died about eight times before I finally was able to get them killed.

I will admit when you first meet the Doctor that was apart of the ship’s crew, you will get this feeling that he’s going to turn against Lara and everyone that he knew just by how he was acting when we meet the people that were living on the island. When we finally find Sam, she’s with one of those island people and when Lara passes out, she gets taken to be the new Queen of the island and that’s when our start for the game really starts. Now, we know what our storyline is going to be about and that’s saving Sam before she becomes the new Queen of the island because the Islanders are stuck.

The game starts out really slow,  killing the Island people to get closer to finding Sam and the rest of the crew from the ship. Sadly, we lose a few people along the way and one of the crew members start to doubt Lara after they get Sam. They find a boat to get off the island but Lara has already figured out that they can’t leave either way it goes unless she kills the Queen that’s still on the island. HINT: why the Islanders needed Sam.

By this point, the Doctor has already shown that he’s not apart of the crew anymore. He’s working with the Islanders to get Sam back while Lara is off to help Alex get a tool to help fix the boat but sadly, Alex dies helping Lara get out of the boat so they can go home. Once the boat is fixed, the Doctor finds them again and that’s when all hell decides to come forth. Now, Jonah, Lara and the other crew member are off to save Sam, now that they know that Lara was telling the truth and all this shit, and that’s when it gets to be fun again. Killing islanders to get to where Sam is. And when we finally get there, THERE’S THE FUCKING DOCTOR WITH THE ISLANDER AND SAM.

Now, we’re watching the part where we see how quickly the islander had turned against the Doctor and get killed by the soldiers protecting the sun Queen; that gives the islander and sam way to get past. Here we go back at kicking ass and taking names to get to Sam. We finally kill the bitch that started all this mess who wanted Sam kidnapped and we also kill the sun Queen. We got Sam back and we got the fuck off that island. And sadly, once we watch the ending part of that scene, we find out that we had completed the game.

I think this game was a little long and had some tough spots to get past (I should know because I needed help from my husband on a few hard parts), I think the storyline is good and strong. If you have a game pass, I think it would be worth playing since it’s free with a game pass. I think it should have been easier to get guns and a bow when we first started out since we do have to kill people and animals and it’s hard when it’s just you against people with guns, and all you have is a bow with a few arrows. Overall, it was a pretty good game to play.

  1. I’ve never been too much of a gamer, but I can’t get over the graphics in the newer games! It’s incredible how far we have come – just look at how realistic that is! Wow!
